This job is seasonal and will work at Crater Park.
Responsibilities: Waste Collection and Disposal:
- Collect and dispose of waste from facilities within the park, including restaurants, retail stores, lodging, campgrounds, and public spaces.
- Sort and separate recyclable materials to promote sustainable waste management practices.
- Collect and transport compost, organics, and recyclables from the property to facilities in Klamath Falls.
- Operate and maintain waste collection equipment, such as trash compactors and recycling bins.
- Supporting employee engagement campaigns to help reduce waste sent to the landfill
- Collaborate with other park staff to coordinate cleaning schedules and address specific cleanliness requirements for events or special occasions.
- Provide information and guidance regarding waste disposal and recycling practices within the park.
- Foster a positive and informative interaction with park guests, promoting a sense of environmental responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- This is a seasonal position - full-time employment during peak visitor season May-October.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
